EXCLUSIVE: Hyde Park-Image Nation and Blumhouse Productions are beginning principal photography next week on Prey, a horror-thriller film directed by Franck Khalfoun ( Amityville: The Awakening).
The logline for the pic, which is written by MTV Scream series scribe David Coggeshall, is being kept under wraps.
Logan Miller, recently seen in Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse and The Stanford Prison Experiment, is headlining Prey. He can be seen next in Before I Fall, The Waiting, and he has a recurring role on AMC’s The Walking Dead.
Miller will star alongside Kristine Froseth. She recently starred in Danny Strong’s upcoming feature directorial Rebel in the Rye. Hyde Park CEO Ashok Amritraj and Blumhouse chief Jason Blum will produce. Image Nation Abu Dhabi will finance the film which has Jeanette Volturno and Couper Samuelson from Blumhouse as executive producers.
Khalfoun is repped by United Talent Agency, Industry Entertainment, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush & Kaller. Miller’s reps are Innovative Artists, Primary Wave Entertainment and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum Matlof and Fishman. Froseth is represented by WME, Anonymous Content and Hansen Jacobsen. Coggeshell is repped by Paradigm and Writ Large.
Amritraj’s Hyde Park Entertainment Group and Image Nation Abu Dhabi continue their long term feature film partnership which was announced in 2009. Recent films produced and financed by the venture include such critically-acclaimed films as Ramin Bahrani’s award-winning 99 Homes starring Andrew Garfield, Michael Shannon, and Laura Dern, and the Emmy Award-winning Lost Christmas, as well as commercial, star-driven films such as Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance in partnership with Sony and the Elmore Leonard thriller Life of Crime starring Jennifer Aniston. Blumhouse currently has the Kevin Bacon BH Tilt Release The Darkness in theaters which has accumulated $10.5M. Upcoming for Blumhouse is The Purge: Election Year on July 1 , Ouija: Origin of Evil on Oct. 21 and Split on Jan. 20. Last year, Blumhouse via Universal released M. Night Shyamalan’s The Visit which grossed close to $100M worldwide off a $5M production cost.
