President Obama Delivers Best Thursday ‘Tonight’ Ratings Since Jimmy Fallon’s First Week

President Barack Obama, and Madonna, captured The Tonight Show‘s best Thursday metered market ratings since Jimmy Fallon’s first week as host two years ago.The 3.6 household rating is the NBC late-night show’s highest early stat on a regularly scheduled Thursday broadcast since Fallon’s first week in February 2014. First Lady Michelle Obama was his guest.

Making his first appearance as a sitting president to Tonight in the Fallon era, Obama matched the 3.6 of the show’s Friday, September 11, 2015 broadcast when Fallon’s guest was – Donald Trump.

In Nielsen’s 56 metered markets, CBS’ Late Show With Stephen Colbert logged 1.7/4; and ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! a 1.5/4 with an encore.

In the 25 Local People Meter markets, adult 18-49 stats came in with Fallon’s show at 1.3/7, Colbert with a 0.3/2, and Kimmel at 0.5/3 with an encore.

As Fallon’s guest, Obama slow-jammed the news one last time as sitting POTUS, praised Hillary Clinton, and wrote thank you notes to the GOP.
