MGM Television EVP Business & Legal Affairs Laura Black Dawson is leaving, the company said today. It has hired Michael Minden, previously SVP Business Affairs and Head of Entertainment Legal at Endemol Shine North America and Shine America, to join as EVP Business and Legal Affairs, Scripted Television. Shelley Reid, EVP Business & Legal Affairs at MGM Television, will continue on in her role and report to Minden.
Minden will be tasked with overseeing business and legal affairs for MGM Television’s scripted projects including development and production deals as well as negotiating network, cable, digital and talent agreements. He will report to Brian Edwards, EVP of MGM’s television operations, and also to Chief Legal Officer Lesley Freeman when she joins the company in July.

Dawson had been in her role since fall 2014. “Laura has done a terrific job at MGM and we wish her all the best for the future,” Edwards said in today’s announcement.
At Endemol Shine North America and Shine America, Minden oversaw the development, production, and exploitation of scripted and unscripted content. Before that he was in various Business and Legal Affairs departments at Viacom.
