EXCLUSIVE: Hilary Swank is joining what has shaped up to be fun and interesting cast for Steven Soderbergh’s heist film Logan Lucky — a story about brothers who plan a crime during a NASCAR race in Charlotte, NC. Swank joins Daniel Craig, Channing Tatum, Katherine Heigl, Adam Driver, Seth MacFarlane and Riley Keough. The film is being produced by Mark Johnson, Gregory Jacobs and Reid Carolin.
In addition, Katherine Waterston (Alien: Covenant, Michael Clayton), is in negotiations to join the picture as well. The actress will also be seen this year in Warner Bros.’ highly anticipated Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opposite Eddie Redmayne which drops on Nov. 18th for the Thanksgiving holiday big box office weekend.
Swank has earned two Best Actress Oscars for her work in Clint Eastwood’s Million Dollar Baby and Kimberly Peirce’s Boys Don’t Cry. More recently, she is on deck for Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s The One Percent for Starz opposite Ed Helms and Ed Harris and is filming Billie August’s 55 Steps with Helena Bonham Carter, playing a lawyer who defends a schizophrenic woman’s right against invasive medical procedures.
