Something in the neighborhood of $1.8 million was raised at Harvey Weinstein’s star-packed fundraiser for Hillary Clinton in New York City Monday night, sources tell Deadline. The event for 50 or so Clinton supporters at Weinstein’s Manhattan home drew some major Hollywood names, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lopez, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, Candice Bergen, Bethenny Frankel and designers Vera Wang and Tory Burch.
The fundraiser topped a big money day for the Clinton campaign. According to a mandatory FEC filing earlier in the day, Clinton’s campaign directly pulled in $19.5 million in May, meaning the candidate has a record $42.5 million at hand. Add to that the real money of the Clinton Super PAC, with Priorities USA hitting its best haul of 2016 so far with $12.1 million in donations, and it brings the Haim Saban- and Jeffrey Katzenberg-supported entity to more than $52 million, with millions more in forthcoming commitments.

All in all, the Clinton fundraising machine is well ahead of Donald Trump’s tepid fundraising efforts as the presumptive nominees head towards their party conventions next month. The former Secretary of State heads to LA for more money-gathering, as Deadline exclusively revealed, with a June 28 event at the home of Sean Parker and wife Alexandra.
In April, Clinton was feted in LA at the home of Jeffrey Katzenberg and wife Marilyn the day before a multimillion dollar fundraiser at George Clooney’s L.A. home. Katzenberg’s fundraiser was cohosted by Haim and Cheryl Saban, and Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw.
