Griffin Dunne (After Hours, Dallas Buyers Club) has booked a series regular role opposite Kathryn Hahn and Kevin Bacon in Jill Soloway’s Amazon comedy pilot I Love Dick.
Written by playwright Sarah Gubbins based on Chris Kraus’ 1997 novel and directed by Soloway, I Love Dick is set in a colorful academic community in Marfa, Texas. It revolves around married couple Chris (Hahn), an independent filmmaker, and Sylvere (Dunne), an intellectual and cultural critic who lands in Marfa as an esteemed fellow with an important residency. When Chris expresses an interest in Dick (Bacon), the head of the institute, Sylvere’s response is surprising, creative and incredibly modern. Roberta Colindrez also stars.
Dunne is known for his roles in Best Picture Oscar nominee Dallas Buyers Club and After Hours. On the TV side, he recurred on Manhattan and Red Band Society and most recently appeared on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
I Love Dick will premiere later this year as part of Amazon’s half-hour pilot season.
