EXCLUSIVE: 20th Century Fox has acquired the rights to turn the musical stage show F***ing Identical Twins into a movie, with Chernin Entertainment producing.
The stage show, written by Josh Sharp and Aaron Jackson, and composed by Karl St. Lucy, is a subversive musical spin on The Parent Trap. Two business adversaries who realize they’re identical twin brothers decide to switch places to reunite their divorced parents in order to become a family again. Sharp and Jackson, the original stars of the show, will also write the script.
The original stage musical ran for a year at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre-NY, where the duo originally met as they performed improv and sketch. It has since done multiple shows at UCB-LA and also as a part of the Piccolo Fringe Festival in Charleston, SC. Sharp and Jackson are New York-based comics. Sharp’s the co-writer and co-star of the IFC web series How Shit Works, while Jackson appears in the upcoming comedy The Big Sick.
