Okay, Television Academy members, get your ballots in NOW as online voting for this year’s Emmy contest ends tonight at 10 PM (PT).
Of course, with over 400 shows to consider, you need all the time in the world to be prepared to parcel it all down to a few shows in a measly 113 categories. But the moment of truth is coming soon with nominations to be announced on Thursday, July 14. To put it all in perspective for you, Gold Derby’s Tom O’Neil and I are doing several slugfests over just how we see those nominations stacking up.
First up we discuss the overall lay of the land and the race as it now stands. This season there has already been a record amount of money spent by these contenders, and as O’Neil points, out it has gotten bigger than the Oscars in that respect.

But can all that money really buy an Emmy or make a voter binge-watch a whole season of House Of Cards, Transparent, Orange Is The New Black, American Crime, The Path or any number of other shows that have landed consistently in Academy member mailboxes? We shall see.
In the meantime, check out what Tom and I — we are both Emmy voters too — have to say by clicking on the above link.
