EXCLUSIVE: Diego Klattenhoff and Charlotte Sullivan have been set to star in Radius, a sci-fi thriller from Epic Pictures and EMAfilms, who previously teamed on last year’s SXSW cult hit Turbo Kid. The Canadian duo of Caroline Labrèche and Steeve Léonard wrote and will direct Radius, which began shooting this week in Manitoba.
The Memento-style thriller centers on a young man who wakes from a car crash with no memory of who he is. As he makes his way into town to look for help, he finds only dead bodies, all with strange pale eyes. At first believing a deadly virus is in the air, he soon discovers the horrific truth which sets in motion an unbelievable chain of events. Turbo Kid producer Anne-Marie Gelinas and Benoit Beaulieu from EMAfilms are producing this one, and Turbo Kid directors Anouk Whissell, Yoann-Karl Whissell and Francois Simard are executive producing with Stéphanie Trépanier.
Klattenhoff (Homeland), repped by Gersh, plays FBI Agent Donald Ressler on NBC’s The Blacklist. The Canada-born Sullivan co-stars on ABC’s Rookie Blue and played Marilyn Monroe in the ReelzChannel miniseries The Kennedys. She’s with Creative Drive Artists, Don Buchwald, and Authentic Talent and Literary Management.
Patrick Ewald and Shaked Berenson’s Epic Pictures Group will serve as executive producer on Radius and handle world sales and U.S. distribution. Filmoption International will distribute in Canada.
“We’re thrilled to be working with EMAfilms again and are very excited to begin a relationship with Caroline and Steeve as Radius is going to be an incredible film,” Ewald said.
Added Berenson: “With so much content out there, it is very hard to find fresh ideas. We continue our commitment to supporting new voices and are looking forward to bringing Caroline and Steeve’s unique vision to the big screen.”
