Broad City is the somewhat broad title given to Comedy Central’s comedy hit about two young women just trying to get by in the Big Apple. As creators/Executive Producers/stars Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer explained when they came to Deadline’s first-ever Contenders Emmys all day

showcase at the DGA Theatre, this is definitely a New York-centric show , but one focusing less on situations than just the day-to-day life of their lead characters whose first names in the show also happen to be the first names of its creators and stars. Moderator Michael Ausiello of Deadline’s sister site TV/Line asks them about their writing process and if they sometimes regret what they put on the page when they later have to act it. They talk about growing the characters and making them people to which the viewers can relate. They also talk about having the inspiration of NYC as a writing tool. The show has been picked up for two more seasons and the pair discuss being excited about shooting the next season during the cold hard winter months, as opposed to summer when it has been shot until now. That season, they say, will give them new fodder for scripts. They also talk about the process they use to create each episode, as well as answering the question posed to Ilana as to whether she has a “crush” on Abbi and just what defines the love these two quintiessential New Yorkers have for each other.
