“I don’t know why it’s so hard for you to think that I can be happy.” BoJack Horseman was a TV star 20 years ago but fell off the Hollywood map. Suddenly his new movie is a hit, and he’s in line for an Oscar nom — so why the long face? Renewed fame has its trappings, and it’s sticking to our hero like, well, glue.
Here’s a trailer for Season 3 of Netflix’s animated comedy starring Will Arnett as the sweater-clad title equine. He gets some “encouragement” from his agent/ex Princess Carolyn (Amy Sedaris), who happens to be a pink cat: “You’re bright, and you’re funny and you’re handsome and you’re talented. If you can’t see that, then you’re the biggest, dumbest piece of sh*t in the world.” If that doesn’t pump his confidence, what will?
Alison Brie, Aaron Paul and Paul F. Tompkins also star in the offbeat toon in which humans and talking animals live side-by-side. Season 3 of BoJack Horseman leaves the starting gate July 22 on Netflix. Groove to Leon Bridges’ retro “Better Man” as you check out the trailer above, then maybe stomp your leg on the ground to indicate how many stars you give it — and tell us what you think.
