Tegna Media said today that its syndicated daytime talk show T.D. Jakes will premiere September 12 in more than 50 U.S. markets. The chatfest, which got a test run last summer, is cleared in more than 40 percent of the country.
The show features Dallas pastor and businessman T.D. Jakes, who boasts a 30,000-member church. Filmed before a live studio audience in Los Angeles, T.D. Jakes will tackle “socially relevant topics in the news” and feature personal stories and honest conversations with celebrity and non-celebrity guests. It will air weekdays in afternoon time periods on 30 Tegna stations in the U.S. along with other markets including Chicago, Orlando, Detroit and San Diego.
