Up-and-coming actress Mckenna Grace has joined Lionsgate’s Pantelion comedy How to Be a Latin Lover. Directed by The State alum and Wet Hot American Summer co-star Ken Marino, the Bad Teacher-esque pic follows an aging Latin lover forced to return to live with his estranged sister and her young son after being dumped by his sugar mama. Grace is set to play Arden, the granddaughter of a very wealthy woman who bonds with her classmate Hugo. Written by Chris Spain and Jon Zack, How to Be a Latin Lover stars Eugenio Derbez, Rob Lowe, Kristen Bell, Raquel Welch and Rob Riggle.
Grace will next be seen in Independence Day: Resurgence actress, and has a starring role opposite Chris Evans and Octavia Spencer in Fox Searchlight’s Gifted, directed by Mark Webb. Other credits include Mr Church, which premiered during the Tribeca Film Festival. She’s repped by Perlman Management Group and Paradigm.
Fox Removed From 20th Century & Searchlight Logos As Disney Updates Labels
Oscar Jaenada has signed on to Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn’s still Untitled Mother-Daughter adventure comedy in an as-yet unrevealed role. The 20th Century Fox pic is directed by Jonathan Levine and written by Katie Dippold, who drew inspiration from her relationship with her mother. Dippold also serves as an executive producer alongside Schumer and Kimberly Caramele, who contributed to the script, with Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping producing through Chernin Entertainment, and Paul Feig and Jessie Henderson producing through Feigco. Daria Cercek is overseeing for Fox.
Jaenada won a Goya award for his portrayal of legendary flamenco dancer Camaron de la Isla in Camaron: When Flamenco Became Legend, and will next be seen opposite Blake Lively this summer in the Cannes thriller The Shallows, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. Other credits include the lead in Cantinflas, Mexico’s 2015 foreign language Oscar submission, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and Steven Soderbergh’s Che. He’s repped by Paradigm Talent Agency, Grandview, and Ziffren Brittenham.
