The MPAA has a new EVP Corporate Communications. The studios’ trade group today tapped Matt Bennett to replace its former global communications chief Laura Nichols, who exited in January to join National Geographic Partners.
Bennett comes to the MPAA from the international public relations firm Racepoint Global, where ran the agency’s public affairs work as SVP and D.C. Practice Lead. Prior to that we was SVP Communications and Public Affairs at PhRMA, the trade association representing leading research-based pharmaceutical companies. Earlier in his career, Bennet served as SVP at GolinHarris, working with Fortune 500 clients in the technology, health care and retail industries.
“Matt’s extensive experience helping associations and corporations communicate their messages to policymakers, influencers and key constituencies will help our organization effectively advance the mission and priorities of our member studios,” said MPAA CEO and President Chris Dodd. “He possesses the skills and leadership abilities that will help the MPAA engage audiences both here in the United States and around the world to demonstrate the value of creativity in today’s digital age.”
