CBS’ Limitless is in a peculiar position, a broadcast series, which has neither been renewed nor canceled by its network as it is presenting its schedule for next season. The freshman series had been quietly shopped by CBS TV Studios since it started to become clear next week that the show was likely not going to be renewed at CBS. Because of Limitless‘ demo skew, I hear streaming platforms were primary targets. Netflix had been speculated as a possible home, though I hear that is not real, at least for now.
“Right now we are in discussions with other buyers,” CBS Entertainment president Glenn Geller said at CBS’ upfront breakfast when asked about Limitless‘ fate. Asked whether that means the show would go to another network, he said, “Potentially yes.”
Limitless is based on the movie, with the film’s star Bradley Cooper serving as executive producer and recurring guest star, reprising his role. Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci executive produce the series.
