Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia’s Seven Bucks Productions shingle is teaming with Studio71 to launch a YouTube channel, Seven Bucks Digital Studio. The news came out of the Newfronts presentation today for Studio71, the growing digital entertainment company and multichannel network of the ProSiebenSat.1 Group.
A summer debut is planned for Seven Bucks Digital, which will serve as Johnson’s latest social media imprint — he already has more than 100 million followers across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The content will feature his own videos, other Seven Bucks projects along with other creators who “share his work ethic and drive to inspire, motivate and entertain.” A scripted action series is also in the works.

“Through Seven Bucks Productions, Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia have built an entertainment brand that crosses all mediums, and we see this as an organic expansion of Johnson’s huge online presence,” said Studio71 president Dan Weinstein. “This partnership furthers our mission to work with the best creators to deliver premium content across all platforms, and we can’t wait to launch a YouTube channel that reflects Johnson and everything he and Seven Bucks Productions stand for.”
Studio71, which recently inked a co-production deal at Paramount that will kick off with Vine star Matthew Espinosa’s Be Somebody, also unveiled today plans to further connect its stable of social media influencers (5 billion monthly views on 1,200 channels) with brands.
