XLrator Media will screen the Duff McKagan/Guns N’ Roses documentary It’s So Easy and Other Lies: Live At The Moore in 50 cities across the country beginning May 26, prior to the film’s June 3 theatrical release in Los Angeles. Based on the best-selling memoir from McKagan, the band’s founding member and bass player, It’s So Easy features exclusive archival footage and chronicles McKagan’s rise to fame and fortune with Guns N’ Roses and Velvet Revolver, his struggles with alcohol and drugs and his life transformation, per XLrator.
The film includes interviews with McKagan, his once and current bandmate Slash, Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready and Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx. “In a voice that is as honest as it is indelibly his own, Duff takes audiences on a harrowing journey through the dark heart of rock ‘n’ roll and out the other side,” XLrator said. McKagan is reuniting with Slash and Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose for a North American tour that kicks off June 23 in Detroit. The group headlined Coachella last month.
It’s So Easy is directed and produced by Christopher Duddy, produced by Daniel Zirilli and Steven G. Kaplan, and executive produced by Vision Films’ Lise Romanoff, Gato Scatena, Jordan Rosner, Hans Stangl, Birgit Stein and Kati Thomson. Evan Saxon did the theatrical booking.
