EXCLUSIVE: Over a year and a half after joining Broad Green Pictures as executive vice president business affairs and general counsel, Christopher Tricarico has left the feature production and distribution company. With that move, The Man In The High Castle EP is restarting his boutique entertainment law firm, Tricarico Chavez LLP.
“I am excited to return to the many clients whom I have had the pleasure to work with for more than a decade,” Tricarico said today. “Much as I loved working at Broad Green, I truly missed the variety and scope of my legal practice,” he added. Tricarico Chavez LLP was dormant after the lawyer boarded Broad Green as a full time exec in November 2014 and was announced formally the following spring.
Tricarico exited Broad Green last month and no one has been set to replace his position at the company, I hear. With partner Darin Chavez, Tricarico reps the likes of the Estate of Philip K. Dick, Hollywood Gang Productions, Wondros, The Tetris Company and the rights holder to the Zorro property among others.
During his stint at Broad Green, Tricarico had a big hand in negotiating and closing the company’s film deals for the likes of the Robert Redford and Nick Nolte starring A Walk In The Woods and Bad Santa 2.With dozens of development deals in the pipeline, Tricarico was instrumental last year in Broad Green acquiring renowned civil rights defense attorney Bryan Stevenson’s Just Mercy: A Story Of Justice and Redemption best selling memoir – which Oprah Winfrey tried to pick up. That project is in development as a feature at the company with Michael B. Jordan attached to star.
