EXCLUSIVE: Adam Driver is joining Steven Soderbergh’s heist film Logan Lucky about brothers who plan a crime during a NASCAR race. Seth MacFarlane is said to be in talks to also join the picture. Michael Shannon has dropped out due to a scheduling conflict as Logan Lucky is set to go before the cameras this fall. Shannon is starring in the untitled Guillermo del Toro cold war project which overlaps with Logan Lucky.
Other actors on the project include Soderbergh’s Magic Mike star Channing Tatum and Riley Keough (Magic Mike, The Girlfriend Experience). The film is being sold at Cannes.
Logan Lucky is being produced by Mark Johnson, Gregory Jacobs and Reid Carolin. Soderbergh had said four years ago that he was retiring, but apparently not as this script caught his eye.
Driver starred as Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. He is repped by The Gersh Agency. MacFarlane (Family Guy, American Dad), is repped by WME.
