WrestleMania 32 Highest Grossing WWE Event Ever With All-Time Attendance Record

WrestleMania 32 was a huge hit for World Wrestling Entertainment tonight, scoring the biggest attendance for any WWE event while also becoming the highest-grossing live event in WWE history. In all, 101,763 people attended tonight’s event at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, beating the previous record of 93.173 set at the Pontiac Silverdome for WrestleMania 3 in 1987. The event also pulled in $17.3 million from ticket sales and pay per view, beating WrestleMania 31, which earned $12.6 million in March, 2015. No doubt those numbers were pushed up by the celebrity guests and WWE veterans who made appearances tonight, including Shaquille O’Neal, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Mick Foley.

Social media activity reflected the huge numbers WWE saw tonight, as more than 2 million tweets were generated during WrestleMania 32, making it the top trending topic of the night and easily beating the reaction to tonight’s The Walking Dead finale, not to mention everything else. The next installment of the annual sports entertainment extravaganza, WrestleMania 33, is set for April 2, 2017, at the Orlando Citrus Bowl.
