Kaley Ronayne (Gotham) and Marcus Callender (Straight Outta Compton) have booked series regular roles in ABC drama pilot Model Woman.
The project, from Sony TV’s TriStar Television and ABC Studios, is a fictionalized family soap inspired by Robert Lacey’s book Model Woman: Eileen Ford and the Business of Beauty, the recently published biography of the outspoken and controversial woman who started as a model and went on to co-found the famous Ford Modeling Agency with her husband Jerry.
Ronayne will play Rebecca Blackwell, the top model in the world. She is a stone cold beauty, stunning but immature and has been with the Geiss Agency since she was a young teenager and, like the other models, lives at the Geiss home. Callender will play Drew Pickett, a handsome couture designer who is planning to design a clothing line for TG Bigbees Department Stores, though he worries it will be the end of his couture business.
Ronayne most recently recurred on Fox’s Gotham and Cinemax’s Quarry. Other credits include recurring roles on TNT’s Public Morals and Lifetime’s Army Wives. She’s repped by Abrams Artists Agency, AC Management and attorney Mitch Smelkinson. Callender had a featured role in Straight Outta Compton and recurred on NBC’s Shades of Blue and MTV’s Eye Candy. He’s repped by Henderson Hogan and JLC Entertainment.
