Liam Hemsworth has been named the theatrical fundraising spokesperson for Brave Beginnings, an initiative of the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation. The program works to improve the lives of premature babies by providing hospitals with grants to purchase life-saving neonatal equipment and support critical-care pulmonary services.

This year’s campaign from the theatrical distributors’ and exhibitors’ charity includes participating theater chains AMC Theatres, Carmike Cinemas, Cinemark USA, Regal Entertainment Group and RC Theatres and will feature the Hunger Games star in a 30-second PSA (see it above) that will appear before movies on more than 4,000 theater screens nationwide.

Since 2006, the neonatal program has contributed $5 million in grants to 148 hospitals. Each year, the program issues 20-30 grants for a total of $1 million. To date, 73,000 babies have been helped by the Brave Beginnings program. More info:
