EuropaCorp chief exec Marc Schmuger has tapped Edouard de Vésinne as deputy CEO. The move comes after Schmuger replaced previous EuropaCorp chief exec Christophe Lambert in a surprise announcement on the eve of the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year. De Vesinne had previously worked at EuropaCorp TV alongside Thomas Anagyros since its launch and has been a well-respected TV exec for the better part of two decades. He will be based in Paris and will be responsible for maintaining Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp’s French businesses while Schmuger focuses more on the international operations.

“Edouard’s appointment as Deputy CEO represents a big addition to our senior leadership team. His deep experience, along with his knowledge of the Group, will be invaluable as we oversee the next chapter of EuropaCorp,” said Shmuger.

De Vesinne had overseen the likes of the TV adaptation of hit film franchise Taken as well as Olivier Marchal’s Section Zero.

“It is a privilege to work with Luc, who is one of the world cinema giants, creator, producer and entrepreneur, and Marc, a renowned professional whose experience and leadership will be crucial to complete the next step of the Group development,” said de Vesinne.

Prior to EuropaCorp, de Vesinne was head of film and drama at French media group M6.
