This Sunday we may see the last of Cooper Barrett’s Guide To Surviving Life. The underperforming Fox comedy series, which was downgraded to the Sunday 7: 30 PM time slot three weeks ago, is being pre-empted next Sunday, April 24, replaced by a Simpsons encore in the 7:30 PM slot leading into a new The Simpsons and the rest of Fox’s regular Sunday lineup. The following Sunday, May 1, Fox will air the American Country Countdown Awards from 8 PM-10 PM, with an hour of animation encores (The Simpsons and Bob’s Burgers) in the 7 PM hour leading to it. The listings for the Sundays beyond that will not be locked in until tomorrow, but it is likely that Cooper Barrett won’t be on them, with the fate of the 3 unaired episodes of its 13-episode order unclear.
Neither of Fox’s midseason comedy entries, Cooper Barrett or the animated Bordertown, are expected to continue beyond this season. Bordertown, which also was downgraded to open Sunday night at 7 PM, leading to Cooper Barrett, will air as scheduled this and next Sunday. We will find out tomorrow if it will run its final two episodes in May.
Bordertown and Cooper Barrett both drew a 0.5 adults 18-49 Live+same day rating in their most recent airing last Sunday.
