Michael Irby has landed a regular role in Taken, NBC’s straight-to-series adaptation of the hit movie franchise.

Written and executive produced by Alex Cary (Homeland), who serves as showrunner, the Taken TV series is a modern-day prequel to the film franchise that depicts how Bryan Mills (Standen) developed and sharpened his particular set of skills. EuropaCorp TV USA and Universal Television are producing. Alex Graves is directing. Irby will play Sam, a member of Bryan’s OPCON (Operational Control) team of elite operatives who take care of America’s national security emergencies on the ground. He’s a bit of a nerd who revels in pushing people’s buttons.

Irby’s television credits include series regular roles on True Detective, The Unit, Almost Human, Line of Fire, and Haunted; recurring roles on 24 and Law & Order, and guest starring roles on Castle, Person Of Interest, The Mentalist, CSI and The Good Wife, among others. He is repped by APA and The Coronel Group.
