Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired North American rights to the provocative coming-of-age sexual drama Bang Gang (A Modern Love Story), the debut feature from French filmmaker Eva Husson. Set in the Atlantic coast town of Biarritz, France, the film explores teenage sexuality in the age of social media and follows a group of bored teenagers who pass the time with numerous distractions, among them what amounts to ad hoc sex parties. George (Marilyn Lima) will stop at nothing to keep Alex’s (Finnegan Oldfield) eyes and hands on her. As he has a sense of intimacy that runs only skin-deep, George must keep one-upping her sexual acts, eventually bringing her friends Laetitia (Daisy Broom), Nikita (Fred Hotier) and Gabriel (Lorenzo Lefebvre) into the bedroom with them.

The film premiered last year at the Toronto International Film Festival and screened March 4 at Rendez-Vous, co-presented with UniFrance and Film Society of Lincoln Center. A limited theatrical release is planned for North America in late spring. Written and directed by Husson, it’s produced by Didar Domehri, Laurent Baudens, and Gael Nouaille. The deal was negotiated by Peter Goldwyn on behalf of Samuel Goldwyn Films and by Nicolas Brigaud-Robert on behalf Films Distribution.
