Vertical Entertainment and XYZ Films have teamed to acquire global distribution rights to horror anthology Holidays, which will world premiere next month in the Midnight section of the Tribeca Film Festival. Tt will hit VOD and theaters right after as part of the unique deal.
Indie production and sales outfit XYZ and John Hegeman’s genre label Distant Corners Entertainment produced the pic, which screens at Tribeca on April 14. It will hit VOD the next day followed by a platform theatrical release April 22.
Holidays, which came together as a project at Berlin 2015, featured a group of subversive tales fashioned around holidays — Christmas, Easter, Halloween and Mother’s Day — with vignettes helmed by indie and genre stalwarts Kevin Smith, Gary Shore, Scott Stewart, Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer, Sarah Adina Smith, Nicholas McCarthy, Adam Egypt Mortimer and Anthony Scott Burns.

Said Vertical co-president Rich Goldberg: “We have an extremely tight window to get the film out to audiences in April, but we have a dedicated team here at Vertical as well as with our partners XYZ and Distant Corners, what I believe will be the first film available globally immediately after its festival premiere.”
