UPDATED, 3:30 PM: Discovery Channel said today that Harley and the Davidsons, its six-hour miniseries about the birth of the iconic motorcycle brand, will air over in two-hour blocks over three consecutive nights starting Monday, September 5. The cable net also added a trio of actors to the cast: Gabe Luna (Matador) as Eddie Hasha, the bike racer nicknamed “the Texas Cyclone”; Alex Shaffer (We Are Your Friends) as Shrimp Burns, a top dirt and board track racers of the early 20th century; and Sean Scully (Cassidy Way) as Walt Jr.
PREVIOUSLY, March 14: Discovery’s six-hour miniseries about the birth of the Harley-Davidson brand has added three new riders. Daniel Coonan (EastEnders), Annie Read (The Haunted Life) and newcomer Essa O’Shea have joined the cast of Harley and the Davidsons, which follows William Harley and Arthur Davidson, who launched the iconic motorcycle manufacturer in Milwaukee in 1903.
Coonan will play of William “Big Bill” Davidson, brother of Arthur and Walter Davidson; Read is Caroline Jacthuber, who eventually becomes Bill Harley’s wife; and Clara Davidson is set as Arthur’s wife, Clara Davidson. They join a cast that includes Michiel Huisman, Robert Aramayo, Bug Hall, Stephen Rider and Jessica Camacho.
Production on the mini starts this month for a premiere date later this year on Discovery.
