Indie distributor Paladin said today it will release the romantic comedy 3rd Street Blackout on April 29 in NYC. The film directed by and starring Negin Farsad and Jeremy Redleaf is set in the East Village and appropriately will open at City Cinema’s Village East Theater before expanding into select U.S. engagements in May. It revolves an incredibly tech-savvy couple who recently have begun living together in a Third Street tenement walk-up. When Hurricane Sandy hits, they are shocked to discover that they can no longer use their prior — and primary — modes of communication. When they have a spat, and he decamps to Brooklyn, they are each forced to resort to new (meaning old) ways of connecting to people as they try to make their way back to one another.
