Bill Gersh has just been made agent at The Gersh Agency, which makes him another of the third generation of those in his family that have gone into the talent representation business. He will be an agent in the Alternative and Digital Packaging Division. Started in the 1940s, The Gersh Agency is the oldest agency in the business started by Bill Gersh’s grandfather Phil. David and Bob Gersh are co-heads of the agency. Bill Gersh, who is Bob’s son and David’s nephew, has been working at the agency since 2014. David’s son, Steve Gersh, is already an agent there.
Prior to coming to the agency, he worked in production on various shows, such as the Academy Awards, Emmy Awards, The Golden Globes, Grammy Awards, and large scale televised events including the Super Bowl Halftime Show and two Presidential Inauguration productions for Obama.
The agency is currently celebrating a successful awards season, including client Tom McCarthy’s Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Best Picture winner Spotlight (as well as his Independent Spirit Award wins for Best Director and Best Screenplay). Other award season wins this year include a SAG win for Jeffrey Tambor for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series for Transparent and Dave Diomedi for a DGA victory for Directing The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
The agency has locations in Beverly Hills and New York.
