Alysia Reiner (Orange Is the New Black) has booked a recurring role in FX’s comedy series Better Things. From Louis C.K. and his longtime friend and collaborator Pamela Adlon, Better Things is a semi-autobiographical vehicle for Adlon similar to the way Louie is for CK. It centers on Sam (Adlon), a working actor with no filter trying to earn a living, navigate her daughters’ lives, have fun with a friend or two and also — just maybe — squeeze in some private time once in awhile. Reiner will play Sunny, one of Sam’s friends. Reiner is known for her role as Natalie Figueroa in Orange Is The New Black and D.A. Wendy Parks in How to Get Away With Murder. She also produced and stars in the feature Equity, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January and will be released by Sony Pictures Classics this summer. She is repped by Abrams Artists Agency, Harden-Curtis and Affirmative Entertainment.
Zachary Gordon (Diary of a Wimpy Kid) is set for a recurring role in Freeform’s horror drama series Dead of Summer, created/executive produced by Adam Horowitz, Edward Kitsis and Ian Goldberg. Set in the late 1980s, school is out for the summer and a sun-drenched season of firsts beckons the counselors at Camp Clearwater, a seemingly idyllic Midwestern summer camp, including first loves, first kisses — and first kills. Clearwater’s dark, ancient mythology awakens, and what was supposed to be a summer of fun soon turns into one of unforgettable scares and evil at every turn. Gordon will play Jason “Blotter” Cohen, a happy-go-lucky former camper who returns to Camp Clearwater as a counselor and resident stoner. Blotter is just as weirded out by the strange occurrences at camp as the other counselors but makes an effort to keep everyone distracted and happy. Gordon is repped by Abrams Artist Agency, Link Entertainment and Felker, Toczek.
