Broad Green Pictures said that Veena Sud, who created the AMC crime series The Killing, has signed on to write a remake of We Monsters, the Sebastian Ko film that played at the Toronto Film Festival last year.
In We Monsters, a husband and wife struggle with their consciences after they try to conceal a terrible crime committed by their teenage daughter. The suspense drama made its North American premiere at TIFF in the Discovery sidebar.
Alix Madigan and Shary Shirazi will oversee the remake for Broad Green.
The Killing ran for two seasons on AMC and Sud earned an Emmy nom for penning the pilot. AMC canceled the series, based on a Danish crime show, after Season 2 then brought it back for Season 3. It was canceled again afterward and Netflix picked it up for a final fourth season.
Sud is repped by WME.
