NBC confirmed today it has greenlighted a Maya Rudolph-hosted variety show, an idea that had been in the works since a primetime special The Maya Rudolph Show aired back in May 2014. The new show will be co-hosted by Rudolph and Martin Short and be executive produced by their old SNL boss Lorne Michaels.
Our sister pub Variety broke the news today, saying the network is targeting a late May premiere for the tentatively titled Maya And Marty In Manhattan. No word on the number of episodes in the series order. Late Show With David Letterman alum Matt Roberts and Erin David are producing with Rudolph and Short.
