Isabella Rossellini is set for a co-starring role opposite Jeffrey Donovan and Kadee Strickland in Hulu’s original drama series Shut Eye. The series, from creator Les Bohem, Sony TV’s Tri-Star Television and Mark Johnson’s Gran Via Productions, takes a darkly comedic look at the underground world of Los Angeles storefront psychics and the organized crime syndicate that runs them. The story revolves around Charlie Haverford (Donovan), a disgruntled player in the organization who finds his cynical worldview challenged when he starts to experience visions that may or may not be real.
Rossellini will play Rita, the beautiful and sadistic matriarch of the Romani clan.
Shut Eye is executive produced by showrunner Bohem and Gran Via Prods’ Johnson and Melissa Bernstein. The 10-episode series is set to shoot in Vancouver with Johan Renck directing.
Rossellini recently co-starred in Joy and previously guest starred on Sony TV’s The Blacklist. She is repped by Barry McPherson and Cindy Ambers at Art/Work Entertainment.
