Syfy has given a 13-episode series order to Incorporated, its futuristic thriller pilot from Matt Damon, Ben Affleck & Jennifer Todd’s Pearl Street Films, CBS Television Studios and Universal Cable Prods.
Created by David & Alex Pastor, who wrote and directed the pilot, Incorporated is set in a near future where corporations have unlimited power. It centers on Ben Larson (Sean Teale), a young executive who conceals his true identity to infiltrate a very dangerous corporate world to save the woman he loves. But he’ll soon learn that he’s not the only one whose secrets might have deadly consequences.
Eddie Ramos, Dennis Haysbert and Julia Ormond co-star in the series, slated to premiere in fall 2016. Ted Humphrey will serve as executive producer/showrunner, with Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Todd also executive producing. Pearl Street Films’ Margaret Chernin will serve as co-producer.
“The most powerful science fiction holds up a mirror to our world,” said Dave Howe, President of Syfy & Chiller. “Incorporated is exactly that type of smart, provocative series, delivering a fresh, edge-of-your-seat thriller that challenges notions of the world we live in today.”
Incorporated is part of the creative revamp at Syfy, which started with The Expanse, already renewed for a second season. It is being followed by The Magicians, which has been well received, and the upcoming Hunters, from The Walking Dead executive producer Gale Anne Hurd.
