Directed by Stanley Tucci, Final Portrait will begin principal photography on February 15. Joining Geoffrey Rush and Armie Hammer are Tucci’s Big Night co-star Tony Shalhoub, and French actresses Sylvie Testud and Clémence Poésy. The story centers on the relationship between artist Alberto Giacomettii and American writer James Lord. It’s adapted from Lord’s memoir, A Giacometti Portrait. This is Tucci’s fifth time behind the camera with Rush as Giacometti and Hammer as Lord. Shaloub is playing the artist’s brother Diego; Testud is his long suffering wife, and Poésy his muse and lover. Gail Egan (A Little Chaos, A Most Wanted Man) is producing for Potboiler Productions; Nik Bower (Suffragette) for Riverstone Productions; and Ilann Girard for Arsam International (I, Anna). Hanway has international sales.
TrustNordisk has boarded sales of Ole Bornedal’s latest, untitled, feature which also starts shooting on February 15. The 1864 helmer has cast Ulrich Thomsen (The Commune, In A Better World), Nicolas Bro (Nymphomaniac), Lene Maria Christensen (Arvingerne) and Mia Lyhne (Clown The Movie, Borgen). The story follows two tradesmen who are tired of their lifeless marriages and dream of living the good life using the stash of money they have earned moonlighting for years. After a huge fight with their wives, they get drunk and hire a Russian contract killer to do a hit on their spouses. But they have badly underestimated their wives, kicking off an absurd journey where the husbands end at the top of a kill list. Jonas Allen and Peter Bose are producing for Miso Film.
