Wayward Pines, from 20th TV, is executive produced by Donald De Line, Ashwin Rajan, Crouch and Shyamalan. Mark Friedman serves as executive producer and showrunner.
Oscar-nominated actor Djimon Hounsou is set to co-star opposite Jason Patric in the second installment of Fox’s psychological thriller event series Wayward Pines, executive produced by M. Night Shyamalan.
In his first series regular role, Hounsou will play CJ Mitchum, an original resident of Wayward Pines and a historian for the town with extensive knowledge of its complex origins who is the one person who can provide a unique bridge between the current world of Wayward Pines and the previous world that humans inhabited.
Based on the world created by author Blake Crouch in his bestselling series of books, the 10-episode second season of Wayward Pines picks up where Season 1 left off, with the town’s residents battling the iron-fisted rule of the First Generation. As events unfold in Wayward Pines, the thoughtful and philosophical Mitchum – a former teacher – makes a decision that will affect the fate of Wayward Pines and every resident living there.
Hounsou, a two-time Oscar nominee for Blood Diamond and In America, was recently seen in Furious 7 and Guardians of the Galaxy and next co-stars in Tarzan and Guy Richie’s Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur. His only major previous TV series gigs were arcs on Alias and ER. Hounsou is repped by CAA and The Safran Company.
