Bruce Tuchman, who joined AMC Networks in 2011, is poised to leave the company this April, following the Mip TV market in Cannes. The President of AMC Global and Sundance Channel Global has been key to the expansion of the international channels business, leading the strategic distribution, programming, business development and marketing of the AMC and Sundance Channel brands.
AMC Networks launched AMC globally as AMC Networks International in 2014 to over 125 countries with the rebranding of the MGM international channel business, which Tuchman previously led. The rebranding was in conjunction with AMC Networks’ $1B acquisition of Liberty Global’s content division, Chellomedia which completed exactly two years ago today. Sundance Channel Global is currently distributed through numerous linear, on-demand and associated streaming services in over 70 countries across Europe, Latin America, Asia, North Africa, the Middle East and Canada.
Tuchman will not be replaced. However, Harold Gronenthal, EVP of programming & operations, will now report to Ed Carroll, COO of AMC Networks, who oversees all of global.
AMC said in a statement: “Having been with the company since 2011, Bruce Tuchman, President of AMC Global and Sundance Channel Global, will be leaving AMC Networks this April. He has been instrumental in developing Sundance Channel into a global brand and successfully transitioning the MGM Channel into AMC Global, positioning the business for future growth. We wish him well in his new endeavors.”
