Abrams Artists Agency has promoted three senior agents — Richard Fisher, Paul Reisman and Billy Serow — to head their respective departments in the agency’s New York office. Fisher and Reisman will be co-heads of the agency’s NY talent department while Serow will head the office’s voice department. All will report to Robert Attermann and Neal Altman, chief operating officers and co-managing directors, who are based in Abrams’ New York office. The promotions come as the agency is reorganizing to strengthen the bonds between Abrams Artists Agency’s Los Angeles and New York offices. In the streamlining process implemented by the agency, there are no layoffs.
“Richard, Paul and Billy have helped build strong client bases in their respective departments over the years,” said Abrams Artists Agency founder and CEO Harry Abrams in making the announcement. “All three have shown tremendous leadership over the years and have been instrumental in helping to train both assistants and agents as they advance the growth of their departments.”
Abrams Artists Agency Rebrands As A3 Artists Agency
Reisman began as an assistant at Paradigm Talent Agency before joining the Abrams training program in 1999. The following year, he was made agent.
Fisher started his career in the early 1980s as a theatrical stage manager. He later joined the talent agency J. Michael Bloom and Associates as an assistant in the legit department before launching boutique agency Duva-Flack Associates, where he remained until joining Abrams Artists Agency in 2002.
Serow was a child actor who later began working for the Hudson Guild Theater as an associate director and producer. After an 18-year stint as a casting director (an owner of Godlove, Serow & Sindlinger Casting), he cut his teeth as an agent in William Morris’ commercial department. He’s spent the last 13 years at Abrams Artists Agency. Serow still teaches master classes in audition techniques for voiceovers in the MFA program at Yale University. He also teaches on-camera and voiceover workshops in the BFA program at Rutgers University.
