We’ll see her in full battle gear on March 25 when she turns up in a supporting role in Warner Bros.’ Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, however DC fans were treated to an exclusive look last night of Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman during CW’s Dawn of the Justice League special. Thumbs up to Warner Bros. for stoking fans a year and a half in advance of the film’s June 23, 2017 release date (by the way, we still haven’t seen a teaser for Disney’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and that comes out on Dec. 16).
Watching the clip, it’s clear this isn’t the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman we grew up with on the 1970s CBS TV series. Patty Jenkins’ take on the classic DC superhero will be totally epic, taking the superhero from her Greek Amazon homeland of Themyscira to her battles in the European World War I theatre.

As described by DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns, Wonder Woman’s people, the Amazons, once protected man’s world, but have abandoned it. Diana asks her elders constantly, “‘Why don’t we go do what we were created to do and protect man?’ and they say ‘They’re not worth it.'” explains Johns. Israeli-born Fast & Furious actress Gal Gadot landed the feminist superhero role in Dec. 2013 when it was announced she would co-star in Batman v. Superman. Wonder Woman co-stars Chris Pine and Robin Wright. Currently no other titles are counter-programming Wonder Woman on its current release date.
