There are a lot of movies, obviously, at the Sundance Film Festival this year but there’s also lot of TV too – including Starz’s The Girlfriend Experience. The first 4-episodes of the Steven Soderbergh EP’d anthology series is debuting today in Park City at the Egyptian Theatre.
“It felt like a film,” star Riley Keough said today in our Sundance studio (click the video above) about shooting the series with directors and Amy Seimetz and Lodge Kerrigan. Of course, this isn’t the first time a form of TGE has been at Sundance. The 2009 Soderbergh helmed pic had its premiere here. “The Girlfriend Experience seems to fit in perfectly even if it’s for television instead of the theatrical screen,” said Starz CEO Chris Albrecht.

“You have a lot more freedom now with television,” notes Keough, who also is appearing at Sundance in the So Young Kim directed film Lovesong.
If you’re not here to see it at Sundance, The Girlfriend Experience debuts on Starz on April 10
