FX’s much-praised 1980s Russian spy drama The Americans is returning for its fourth season at 10 PM Wednesday, March 16, the network announced today at TCA.

FX logoFX also unveiled its Season 4 poster featuring series stars Matthew Rhys (Philip) and Keri Russell (Elizabeth). It captures the complex marriage of the two KGB spies posing as Americans in suburban Washington D.C. during the Reagan administration. Their arranged marriage grows more passionate and genuine by the day, but as the pressures and demands of the job grow heavier, the personal toll becomes almost too exhausting to bear. The premiere episode, “Glanders,” picks up on the heels of last season’s finale with Philip and Elizabeth dealing with the fallout of all they’ve wrought.

The Americans was created by Joe Weisberg who, along with Joel Fields, serves as an executive producer and writer. Graham Yost and Chris Long also executive produce along with Amblin Television heads Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank. The Americans is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios and FX Productions.
