Sandra Condito, a onetime Miramax/Dimension Films exec, has been hired as president of production at Straight Up Films. She most recently oversaw acquisitions, development and production at the Lionsgate-Televisa joint venture Pantelion Films.
Los Angeles-based Straight Up is a production company focused on developing and producing film, TV and commercials. Its recent film credits include Transcendence and the Natalie Portman-starrer Jane Got A Gun. Marisa Polvino and Kate Cohen co-founded the outfit in 2008.
“Sandra is a consummate executive whose expertise across many facets of filmmaking and vast relationships are respected throughout the industry,” Polvino and Cohen said. “We feel most fortunate to have her join the Straight Up Films family.”
At Miramax/Dimension, Condito was involved in Robert Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios including developing pics like Spy Kids, Sin City, Grindhouse and Once Upon A Time In Mexico. She began her career there as a publicist.
