Former View co-host Sherri Shepherd, who returned to the ABC talk show as a lead contributor this season, has signed on to host and executive produce WE TV’s unscripted series Match Made In Heaven for its upcoming second season. The show, which premiered last year, features 22 diverse bachelorettes vying for the heart of a wealthy African-American bachelor who is guided through the process by pastor Ken Johnson, the Indianapolis Colts spiritual advisor.
Following the first season, which aired without a host, WE TV decided to add an emcee, reaching out to Shepherd.
“During my time co-hosting The View, I was always talking about the need for an African-American bachelor on television,” Shepherd told Deadline. “When We TV approached me about partnering up with them I had to say yes. Words can’t describe the amount of fun I’ve had working on this show.”
