Lloyd Owen (NBC’s upcoming You, Me And The Apocalypse) has been cast in The End of Longing opposite Matthew Perry, starring in his playwriting debut at the Playhouse Theater in the West End. Owen will play Perry’s best friend Joseph. The director is Lindsay Posner, who also staged Perry’s last London show, David Mamet’s early comedy Sexual Perversity In Chicago. Owen also appeared in the London production of David Lindsay-Abaire’s Good People. First preview of the new play is slated for February 2, with opening a week later and a run through May 14.
Longing concerns Jack (Perry, best known as Chandler from Friends), Joseph, Stephanie (Jennifer Mudge, Dead Man Down) and Stevie (Christina Cole, Second Sight), four friends heading into their 40s and not knowing which way to go. A raucous night together tangles and untangles the various interrelationships.
Having its debut on January 28th, the NBC comedy You, Me And The Apocalypse features Owen as the U.S. President and stars Rob Lowe, Jenna Fischer and Megan Mullally. Lloyd is represented by Sanders Armstrong Caserta Management, Don Buchwald & Associates and Peikoff Mahan Law Offices in the US. In the UK, Lloyd is repped by Hamilton Hodell.
