Just two weeks into Season 2, Spike has ordered a 20-episode third season of pop culture hit Lip Sync Battle. The new season will tape later this year and a Season 3 premiere date will be announced in the near future, says Spike.
Hosted by LL Cool J with Chrissy Tiegen as commentator, Lip Sync Battle features celebrities going head to head – lip-syncing the song of their choice – battling for the coolest bragging rights on the planet. In its first two episodes this season, Lip Sync Battle is averaging 4.4 million viewers and is TV’s top-ranked series in its timeslot with a 3.1 rating in Adults 18-49, according to Spike. The series also has amassed over half a billion video streams since its launch last April, with over 50 million alone for the Season 2 premiere featuring Channing Tatum vs. Jenna Dewan-Tatum.
