Pop has ordered an eight-episode second season of docuseries Sing It On to premiere in the second half of 2016.
Executive produced by John Legend, the series follows five collegiate a cappella teams on their journey to the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella. Season 1 participants are Faux Paz (University of Maryland), Off The Beat (University of Pennsylvania), One Note Stand (The University of Texas at Austin), S#arp Attitude (University of Massachusetts) and Hexachords (University of Massachusetts).
Legend’s Get Lifted Film Co., Sharp Entertainment and its parent CORE Media Group (American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance) also executive produce.
“Competing in collegiate a cappella provided building blocks for my career as a performer and started the foundation of lifelong friendships,” said Legend, a former member of UPenn Counterparts, which made it to the ICCA Finals in 1997. “Sing It On captures all of the emotion and excitement of the ICCA competition, in addition to covering the personal stories and friendships that make a cappella a true community.”

Sing It On is produced by Sharp Entertainment, a division of CORE Media Group, with Matt Sharp, Teri Wagner Flynn and Kallissa Miller serving as executive producers. ICCA owner Amanda Newman serves as co-executive producer. Legend, Ty Stiklorius and Mike Jackson of Get Lifted Film Co. also serve as exec producers.
