Security will be tighter than ever at Sunday’s Golden Globes at the Beverly Hilton. “It‘s definitely going to be increased security this year,” Sgt. Max Subin, a spokesman for the Beverly Hills Police Department, told Deadline.
“Security is always our main concern,” Subin said, “and we are working with our federal partners to provide that security.” He said he could not say if those federal partners included agents from the FBI or Homeland Security, but added, “It’s a partnership we’ve always had with our federal partners to make sure the Golden Globes go off without a hitch.”
“We take these events very seriously,” Subin said. “We want to make sure that the community is taken care of, as well as the visitors to the event. Our security is always top-notch.”
Sgt. Scott Dowling, who’s in charge of the department’s Golden Globes security detail, declined to offer any specifics. “It would not be prudent to tell you what our security plans are,” he said.
