Wondery will focus on creating and curating original, scripted and real-life programming. Fox will be investing in the venture, Lopez says.

Podcast consumption has grown more than 40% in just two years and is about to reach a tipping point. This is the perfect timing to capture this opportunity, using some of the best practices that have transformed television over the last 10 years.”

Wondery also will be partnering with ART19, a San Francisco-based technology company that provides distribution infrastructure to podcasts, networks and media companies.
