Tony Winner Anika Noni Rose Set For ‘Power’ Play

EXCLUSIVE: Dreamgirls star and The Good Wife regular Anika Noni Rose is joining the cast of Starz drama series Power for a multi-episode arc. She plays LaVerne Thomas, a streetwise cop from the neighborhood where Ghost and Tommy grew up. Rose recently wrapped filming the role of Kizzy in the A&E miniseries reboot of Roots with Forest Whitaker. She’s best known for her role as Princess Tiana in The Princess And The Frog and Lorell in the film adaptation of Dreamgirls.

On Broadway, Rose won a Tony Award for her role in the Tony Kushner-Jeanine Tesori musical Caroline, Or Change and was nominated for the revival of A Raisin In The Sun.
